Red Karaoke is a free online karaoke service over the Internet. You can choose a song from the Red Karaoke database, sing it and record it, entirely through the browser without having to install a karaoke program in your computer. All you have to do to record a song is register for free on Red Karaoke and use a microphone for the recording.

The song, once recorded, will be available to all users, who can reproduce it, vote on the performance and add comments or send messages to the singer. With the vote totals, we create top lists and rankings of the best singers .

Red Karaoke also allows users to upload karaoke.kar files to the system, so that if they cannot find the song he or she wants to sing on the Internet, they can load their .kar file and then record the song as one more to add. The .kar files uploaded to the system by users will be available to other users of Red Karaoke instantly. This is precisely what we mean by the concept of community: it's a website made by all of us who are karaoke lovers.

The way Red Karaoke works is very simple, since there are many ways to find a karaoke song and sing it. On the home page users can find all of the songs in the system through a subject directory organized by genre, language, type of song and even by decade. At the home page, furthermore, there are lists of the most popular songs, of the users who have received the most votes, and the recordings with the highest ratings among all recordings submitted.

The other way to find songs is to use the search engine which allows users to search by the artist who made a song famous, or by title. The search engine also makes it possible to find other registered users, or search in the blog or the forums.

Everyone, whether they are registered or not, can listen to the karaoke files or the recordings done by Red Karaoke users, but you must register if you want to be able to vote, publish comments or record your own songs. Registration is absolutely free and anyone can sign up easily .

Once you have selected a song, by clicking on it, you access to its page, where you can find all the information about the karaoke: title, length, author, singer who made it famous, genres to which it belongs, who uploaded the song, recordings made, etc.

On this same page the Red Karaoke player is loaded. This is the heart of the system, that makes it possible to listen to karaoke and/or start recording if the user has connected a microphone to his computer. The way the player works is completely standard, with buttons for play, pause, stop, record and a volume control.

What's more, if you have Webcam you can film yourself while you sing the song. Now all you need to do is put your imagination to work and sure enough with very little effort you can make your own authentic video clips.

As soon as the record button is pressed, the reproduction of the .kar file begins, and at the same time the lyrics of the song are displayed. The music of the .kar file together with your voice, which is captured in the computer via the mike, will be merged together when you press the Save button at the end of the song.

So now you are part of Red Karaoke community, you have listened to the songs done by other users and have recorded your own. In your profile you have all your activity noted, including these recordings, and now other users can enjoy them.

Now all you need to do is make yourself known. How? It's very simple. In each recording you have an option of sending it to your friends. Through this option they will receive a link to the recording you have made on Red Karaoke. Once it's in the player, all they have to do is hit 'Play' to hear and/or see what you have recorded.
