Alannah Myles (born December 25, 1958, Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. In 1988, she released her self-titled debut album, ''Alannah Myles.'' In 1990 "Black Velvet," a single taken from that album, was a worldwide smash hit and won a grammy award.
