Take Some Breaks or You’ll Break
There is abundant literature about the fact that singing for prolonged periods of time whithout taking breaks or drinking water can strain your voice and put your vocal health at risk. In a recent research study conducted among 20 karaoke singers in Asia, 10 male and 10 female with ages ranging between the 20-25 years old it was demonstrated that keeping your throat moist as much as possible is the first step towards a healthy set of vocal cords.
The study consisted of singing for about a 4 to 5 hour period during which 10 singers were given water and took regular breaks. Meanwhile, the other 10 singers continued singing uninterruptedly and without taking breaks for drinking water. The results were quite obvious, those who did not take a break nor drank water after after brief periods of singing started to strain their voice and to experience problems vocalizing. In addition, their throats showed signs of dryness and irritation. Meanwhile, those who took little breaks and hydrated themselves did not loose their voices and managed to continue singing for a period of over 4 hours.
Consequently, we at Red Karaoke would like to encourage our users not to forget to take breaks and to hydrate yourself in order to avoid throat problems which in time can degenerate into vocal cords ailments. In this way, you will be able to sing all the karaoke tracks of your choice plus the quality of your performance will not have to be compromised.
