Sing and Record to the Music of Collective Soul
The post-grunge boys of Collective Soul had great success during the late 90's. However, that doesn't mean that the all-male quintet from Stockbridge, Georgia has not released anything lately. Last year they were back on the spot with the released of the album "Afterwords". In fact, the album debuted at # 25 on the Billboard Comprehensive Albums Chart and # 5 on the Billboard Top Internet Albums Chart.
Throughout the years the band has managed to remain relevant although with a low profile. However, recently the band held an auction for the VH-1 Save The Music Foundation. Apparently, the response was quite good since they managed to raise $5600.00. The proceeds from this auction went to help put musical instruments in the hands of underprivileged school children.
Rolling Stone refers to the members of Collective Soul as, "mellow Georgia boys that have never been anywhere near fashionable, but they have enjoyed a longer and more fruitful run than most of their flashier grunge-era." If you remember these are the guys that brought us some great hits such as December, Shine, The World I know, Listen and Why.
