Brooke Is Off the Hook
Yeah ladies and gentlemen. And to think that the mayor of Mesa proclaimed the "Brooke White Day" last September 27, 2008. It goes to show you that the American Idol marketing and media machine has a tremendous power and reach. On her day, Brooke White visited her hometown of Mesa, AZ, signed autographs at the Milano Music Center and performed at the Mesa Amphitheater. The performance was free to the public. So the prodigal daughter went back to the place where she was born and delivered what she does best: sing.
Well so now, the singer-songwriter and fifth place finalist on the seventh season of American Idol is having a pretty busy life with her career. In fact, she released her first album entitled "Songs from the Attic". As for her musical influences, Brooke White explained, "soulful sounds of the 70's" such as James Taylor, Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, the Carpenters, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, the Eagles, America, Carly Simon, the Bee Gees, Hall & Oates, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, and Phil Collins.
No doubts about Brooke is an ambitious and hardworking professional. She has even mentioned that she'd like to do a duet with John Mayer and other American Idol winners such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
