Exclusive Linkin Park Karaokes

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Linkin Park is one of those rock bands that rose to stardom at the turn of the century. Its peculiar and amazing style of mixing disimilar genres such as Rap and Metal catapulted them to fame. Although not necessarily the pioneers in this niche since other bands such as Anthrax and Red Hot Chili Peppers had also explored this uncharted territory. However, the differentiator for Linkin Park was that their lyrics were extremely sticky and easy to sing.

The initial success led the Linkin Park boys from Southern Cal to sell over 50 millions albums since 1996. Moreover, the band was the recipient of two Grammy Awards. One of their highly awarded album was "Hybrid Theory" that reached all time highs allowing the band to internationalize with world tours and overseas record sales.

"Meteora", their second album was actually even more popular than "Hybrid Theory." In fact during the first week of its release it sold over 800000 copies. For the first month, Linkin Park managed to sell over 3 million copies. In light of their success Linkin Park was invited by Metallica to participate in the 2003 Summer Sanitarium concert with Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Deftones.

Last year, the band released its most recent album entitled "Minutes to Midnight." A large number of fans were actually not too happy about the release because they perceived the band had gone too "comercial", and hence changing their original unique style. However, "Minutes to Midnight" has so far fared well. making the album's first single "What I've Done", debut at #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart.

So, yeah we've added Linkin Park most recent karaokes for you to sing and have fun. The debut list of Linkin Park karaokes includes:

Somewhere I Belong:

Points of Authority:

One Step Closer:

So, get on the groove and start singing now! BTW, Happy Holidays! to you all fans of Linkin Park.

Avril’s “The Best Damn Thing”

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

It's been a while since we've been hearing rumors about Avril Lavigne being pregnant but I guess it's just that: rumors. I am telling you guys the paparazzi are the spin doctors of the truth. Recently, Avril was photographed wearing some loose clothing and apparently "showing" a little tummy. I wonder if she was wearing her own clothing line "Rock Glam." Otherwise, she's gonna have to rebrand it with "Rock Mom." :)

On another note, it has been reported that Avril Lavigne has fired her manager, Terry McBride. Apparently, the Canadian singer blames McBride for the mediocre performance of her last album and of the upside downs of her career. For those of you who did not know, Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" album sold a total of 6 million copies worldwide in October 2008.

BTW, if you are really a hardcore fan of Avril and can't get enough of the loony rocker it just so happens that she has very own 2009 Calendar. The calendar is around $13 and can be found at whatever store near you that sells calendars - bookstores, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. - or can be gotten on Amazon. But that's not all she's been busy with. She landed a movie role in Richard Geere's crime drama " The Flock." As for musical taste, in an interview, Avril stated that her favorite party song is "Hey Ya", by Outkast. She likes listening to Third Eye Blind, Oasis, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down and Blink-182.

So, yeah it seems like this 24 year-old Canadian punk rocker is all over the place. In fact, she's even involved doing some charity work on behalf of U.S. Campaign for Burma, Make a Wish Foundation, Amnesty International and War Child. Alright so before I take off, have fun singing to the music of Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing." TTYL.

Prior to Christmas, "The Boss" kept himself busy by giving a sort of Bruce Springsteen's 2008 Christmas show as he played with Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny, Gary U.S. Bonds and Nicole Atkins at the Hope Show at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. Critics and fans agree that "The Boss" looks great and performing well 'jumping around the stage, leaping with the guitar, working all sides of the stage and smiling throughout.'

Springsteen has received a Golden Globe Nomination for the song "The Wrestler" in the category of Best Original Song - Motion Picture. "The Wrestler" is the title song of the movie with Mickey Rourke on screens now. So you never know "The Wrestler" might even be in the run for an Academy Award nomination. So you get an idea of Springsteen's competition, here they are:

He won a Golden Globe for his song "Streets of Philadelphia" from the movie "Philadelphia" in 1993. So, we wish "The Boss" good luck with the new album and in the Golden Globes. BTW, for those of you who can't wait to see Springsteen back in action. He and the E Street Band will take the field for the Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show next February 1. Alright, gotta split now. “The King” is Back

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Unequivocally, Elvis Aaron Presley is one of the most revered American rock icons. Born in 1935 in Mississippi, he started recording back in 1954 when he was only 19 years old as a gift to his mother. But success did not arrive until he recorded the "Heartbreak Hotel" track that positioned him on the top of the charts. Undoubdtedly, Elvis' unorthodox dance moves made him popular among the younger enthusiastic demographic.

Before joining the military, Elvis Presley was already a star with eleven number ones and 4 albums. In addition, he had already participated in 4 films with enormous success at the box office. With the military, he spent two year and returned to the spotlight with the Frank Sinatra show whom he sang with duets like "Love Me Tender" and "Witchcraft" . For a 10 minute gig with the Frank Sinatra show Elvis charged $125.000. Sinatra himself had to pay out of pocket because his producer refused to pay for it. But it paid off big time since once the ratings came out, the Sinatra show had reached historical audience ratings. The show was viewed by over 40 million people.

But it wasn't until the seventies when he went from being an idol to a musical myth. In 1972, Elvis got divorced from Priscilla Ann-Beaulieau, whom he married 1967. The break up sent Elvis into a depression he had a hard time recovering from. And in 1973, "Aloha from Hawaii" was the the first concert in history broadcasted via satellite from Hawaii. The concert was actually viewed by over 1500 million people. It is also in this decade that problems with overeating and drug use started to deteriorate Elvis' health.

During 1976-1977 Elvis was no longer the strong, energetic idol that had conquered the world. He had gained a lot of weight, and even had a hard time remembering the lyrics of songs. His last concert took place on June 26, 1977 at the Indiana’s Market Square Arena. On the early morning of August 16, 1977, at around noon Elvis was found unconcious in his room's bathroom. He was immediately taken to the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, where he was later pronouced dead.

But urban legends have it that "The King" is alive somewhere and that "he hasn't left" the building yet. One thing is for sure though Elvis remains alive for their fans who after 31 years of his death continue keeping his memory alive. So, we at Red Karaoke have added new Elvis karaokes tracks for you to sing and honor the memory of one of the greatest icons of the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Enjoy!
