Karaoke Challenge: Stuck in the middle

This weeks Karaoke challenge is a little bit silly and a lot of bit fun, the upbeat seventies single Stuck in the middle.

Some might recognize this tune from its use in the cult classic Reservoir Dogs, but Stuck in the middle was originally written in 1972 by Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty and performed by their band, the Steelers Wheel. Oddly, the song is often credited to Bob Dylan and sometimes by a younger generation who don't know their stuff, to Keith Urban.

To set the record straight, the song was on the debut album of Stealers Wheel back in '72 and ended up helping them sell over a million records. Stuck in the middle was very popular, it's original version peaking at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and some covers doing even better.

And there were plenty of covers to become hits, since everyone from Jeff Healey to Michael Buble and even The Grateful Dead put their own spin on Stuck in the middle. And now it's your turn.

Sing Stuck in the middle this week and post your rendition here in the forum. If you're lucky, you might just get chosen to be featured in next week's newsletter and on Red Karaoke's official facebook page.
