Having heard both the original movie version by Angela Lansbury and the
pop version by Celine Dion, I have to admit that I far prefer the original
by Angela Lansbury. It retains a certain simple sweetness found in a
mother's (or grandmother's) song to a child while remembering her own
first love that is somehow lost in the pop translation. Singing this really
brought a smile to my face, and I'll be adding this one to the songs that
I sing to my little girl as I cuddle with her at bedtime.
