I'm too young by a few years to have served in the Vietnam
War, but I've talked to a few vets who have and this song
seems to be the most on the mark of the ones I've heard.
Parris Island is a US Marine training base in South
Carolina and the song would appear to be from the
viewpoint of a dead Marine.
